Utilizing Qualified Electronic Signatures
EUDI Wallet allows users to sign documents with QES, and DIW Gateway ensures communication with EUDI Wallet and QTSP.
The EUDI Wallet enables Relaying Parties to request Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES). The QES signatures are either required by legislation or can provide later proof in case of disputes.
Communication with Qualified Trust Service Providers (QTSP) is not fully standardized, so only QTSPs that follow OpenID4VP and the Cloud Signature Consortium (CSC) API are supported.
Core Scenario Steps
- The client displays the document to a user.
- The OpenID4VP Connector creates a request to the Wallet Unit referencing the document.
- Wallet Ecosystem propagates the request to QTSP.
- The QTSP retrieves the document via the CSC API.
- The QTSP manages the signing process.
- The client receives the signature and displays the signed document to the user.
Use Cases
- Confirmation of legal acts where QES is mandatory
